Corymbia citriodora on the verge at 102 Avenue Road has been inspected and was deemed a risk to public safety due to an advanced borer infestation.
Reasons for removal are as follows:
- Less than 30 percent cambium at ground level
- Tree has a significant borer infestation (Jewel Beetle) which is has led to loss of functional live tissue and created a large wound.
- Wound is now exposed to decay and significantly effects tree stability.
- Health issues are beyond remediation
A replacement tree will be planted in the coming months.
