Mandolong Road and Military Road Intersection Footpath Excavation Works

Council’s Contractor, TOBCO will be undertaking footpath excavation works at the intersection of Mandolong Road and Military Road. The work is scheduled to complete in 1 day, weather permitting. Traffic and pedestrian control will be in effect and parking will be suspended at selected areas during the works.

At times some areas of roads and footpath will be closed when it is considered unsafe for vehicle or pedestrian movements but emergency access will be maintained at all times.

Please ensure that your vehicles are NOT parked within the ‘Work Zone’ areas and Council requests your cooperation to comply with the temporary traffic control measures.

Council contractor Malibu Shade will be undertaking works at The Esplanade to renew the umbrella shade structure. The works are located in the outdoor dining area between Raglan Street and Botanic Road on The Esplanade.

Mosman Post Office - Fairy Light Installations

Wednesday 5 December 2018 Completed


Council has engaged Climbcare Pty Ltd to install fairy lighting at the intersection of Belmont Road and Military Road. Approximately 2 night shifts have been programmed to begin on 5 December 2018 and are scheduled to be completed 7 December 2018.

The night works were organized to minimise disruption to public and local businesses during the day and to minimise traffic impact at the busy intersection. Council requests your cooperation and understanding during the works.

Spit East Streetscape Upgrade

Monday 15 October 2018 – Monday 10 June 2019 Completed


Mosman Council is undergoing a streetscape upgrade at Spit East. The project will improve the amenity and safety of the area, and enhance the site as the northern gateway to Mosman. The works will be conducted in 2 stages, with stage 1 developments now complete. Stage 2 focuses on the southern end near the commercial area, delivering an upgraded laneway and footpaths, new car parking, a new loading zone, signage and landscaping. 

Landscaping will be conducted as part of the works. 7 trees will be removed and 24 new trees will be planted. The net gain of 17 trees will replenish the landscape and create a more inviting and thriving open space.

Council thanks you for your cooperation while we undergo this project to improve the amenities, safety and pedestrian access at Spit East. Road Closure - Bardwell Road Pedestrian Refuge construction

A pedestrian refuge will be constructed on Bardwell Road (South), at the intersection of Bardwell and Military Road. A full road closure at the top of Bardwell Road (South) is expected to be instated over a duration of four days. Spit Road is managed by Roads & Maritimes Services and accordingly all works adjacent to the road require approval from the Transport Management Centre of NSW Government Transport for NSW. Council has received approval for these works but in doing so, Transport NSW has restricted working hours to night time only. Unfortunately this will mean noise for some residents as works proceeds along the road.
In an attempt to minimise the impact, Council will limit any demolition work and use of jackhammers to 11.00 pm.

Bush track repair works between Taronga Zoo’s ferry wharf and Sirius Cove

Monday 10 October 2016 – Sunday 15 January 2017 Completed


The walking path between Taronga Zoo  and Sirius Cove will be closed for  three months due to wall repair works. Part of the zoo’s boundary wall subsided due to severe storms in June and temporary fencing was installed. The section of the path, which is on Taronga Zoo’s land between the zoo’s ferry wharf and Sirius Cove, will be closed for public safety from October 10 to mid January. The road will be closed for a period of 3 hours after 10am, 23 June 2015 to facilitate the works.

Council has engaged Ozpave (Aust) Pty Ltd to undertake constructions works of a pedestrian crossing at the intersection of Mandolong Road and Military Road.
