Replacement of Library Flats Roof – 601 to 611 Military Road, Mosman 2088

Mosman Council’s contractor, ARC Metal Roofing, will be replacing the entire flat roof section of the Library Flats Building located at 601 to 611 Military Road, Mosman 2088.

These works include:

  • Lifting new roof sheet material from the ground to the roof using a crane.
  • Dismantling and removing the old roof sheets.
  • Installing the new roof sheets.
  • Lowering the old roof sheet material from the roof to the ground using a crane.

When will works start?

These works are scheduled to commence on the 10th of February 2025. They will be carried
out during the day between 7:00am and 4:00pm, Monday to Friday with no work planned for weekends unless necessary. The project is expected to take three weeks to complete, weather permitting.

Will there be any disruption?

A crane will be positioned south of the building on February 10, 2025, from 7:00 AM to lift materials to the roof for the entire day. This will restrict pedestrian access to the ramped area leading to the Library Walk as-well as the corridor leading through to Military Road during this period.

A second crane day will be scheduled towards the end of the project to remove the old roof sheets. The exact date has not been confirmed and will be updated on this Works and Alerts Page as soon as it is known.

Some noise is expected during this period while the new roof sheets are being installed. This noise will be caused by hand tools such as saws and drills used to cut the sheets to length and fix them into position
